Great food especially the beef sandwich and polish. A big serving of fries too. Nice people who own and run it. Been there for years.

Great place. Good fast food. This is a gyro dive and has good specials and food. If you expect ambiance you are not going to get that. The food is good, good portion, and service is fast. You will like the specials. I took my nephew and he loved the burger. I had a fish sandwich this time and enjoyed it. The hot dog special is my go to when I pass by here. I like their gyros too. You will be satisfied and enjoy it.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I recently moved to the area and drove passed this place several times and decided to stop in - I'm glad I did, so far I've tasted their chilli-cheese fries, italian beef, and gyro and all were delicious - but what I love most is the level of customer service - always very kind, very friendly, which is damn near impossible to find these days, which is why I wanted to share this experience with others.

I love this place. I'm seeking a stomach expansion surgeon. Combos are to die for. Homemade not processed beef. I witnessed their son slicing the beef. Sandwich enough for one plus mortals. Make sure you get it dipped with sweet peppers and mozzarella cheese please. In the past I would get a beef similarly prepared. However, my last visit convinced me that I need an Italian sausage supplement. I can't eat it all at once so I have leftover delights ready for a little microwave action. Have also had the Gyros which like the combo and beef has a more than generous portion of meat. Did I say I love this place? Well yes I do with all my heart and soul. Owners are friendly and charming. Family run business that brings back the memories of days when I could barely afford a hot dog. Guess I'll have to work hot dogs and polish sausage in the mix. Is there a doctor in the house? Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't be disappointed. I promise you.

I was in town a couple of weeks ago and wanted some good food I could only get in Chicago. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich with au jus on the side and sweet peppers for my mom and a patty melt and taco for myself. After trying many Italian beef sandwiches in the area and being disappointed, my mom said this one was great, and she's a tough cookie to please. My patty melt was delicious. The wheat bread was buttered and toasted, and the grilled onions and cheese were how I remembered my fave patty melts growing up. The taco was simple but good with lettuce, beef, tomatoes, and cheese. I called in my ordered and it was ready and piping hot when I picked it up. There's nothing like simple Chicago style takeout and this place hits the mark.

This is the place to go for authenticity. Everything inside is big and Greek. Big flavor, big gyros! and big hearts. Dimitri loves serving the best food to his customers. He takes great pride in his work and his longevity in the community. Quality and cleanliness are not optional; they are standard. This is an excellent place for a quick bite and good service. We will come back for as long as we can on our trips back & forth to Michigan. We're so lucky to have found this place!

I've been coming to River Oaks Gyros for over a decade and they have the best staff and best takeout Greek food in the Chicagoland area. The prices are cheap and the food is always fresh. They're great at remembering customers and your orders, so after you go a few times they know exactly what you want without even asking. It's CASH ONLY, but they do have an ATM with a $2 or $3 service fee if you happen to forget to bring cash. The opa fries are my favorite menu item and I've also tried their hot dogs, Gyros and hamburgers which are all delicious!
